| StoryAges past, when the world was still young, all sorts of creatures roamed the earth. Many of these have long since died, and even thier histories have faded into myth. Each part of the know land is owned by different races. They get along in relative harmony, though wars have broke open in the past. The Shadow, a great evil, has been sealed away for many generations, and many of his creatures have become tales to frighten children. It's prison is weakening, however, and a great battle is comming. Soon all races will have to band together, or the world will fall into the Shadow's reign. In a world of chaos, all things will be balanced in the Hands of Time. *Note: Some ideas in this roleplay might reflect characters or ideas of Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Such ideas are his, not mine.* :flower: Races *All races have the ability to use magic, but it would be better if not everyone could. Magic skills differ depending on what race you choose. (Example: Elves would be better with plant based magic, Dwarfs with stone exc.)* Humans: Know by some as the Traveling People, they are mainly nomadic. Some may have settled in small villages, though they still follow the same basic principals as the rest. Most follow the Way of the Leaf, which forbids the use of weapons or violence, even to defend one's self or family. If confronted they will run. Some humans have left the Way, however, and chosen to hold weapons. They have been shunned by the Traveling People, and roam alone looking for a place to belong. Elves: Living mainly in the forest, they are the largest race in this Time. In the past they were considered the greatest archetecs, able to sing houses and furniture out of the ground itself. The ability had been dying, however, and very few are still know the songs. They have a basic monarchy system, and are a very wealty race. They tend to look down on anyone who is not an elf, which makes them seem stuck up at times. They are very skilled with all weapons, especially the bow. Dwarfs: Live mainly in underground caverns. They are the experts on jewles and minerals, being the ones that mine them. They have the best smiths (blacksmith, silversmith, exc.) in any land. They usualy only come up to trade, though some are drawn away from thier people by the mysteries of the "over world". **These are just the big three, so feel free to add any other race you like. If you do, please include a general description of the race.** Rules~ Please be kind to everyone, obviously. ~ Don't start until I've aproved your character ~ Romance and fighting is encouraged, but try to keep it clean. ~ Abide by all rules of Whispers in the Dark. Obviously. ~ Try and make posts at least 4 sentences long. ~ Have fun! | Tsarra stood in a corner of the small room, waiting in case Hodoer should need her. The only furniture was a table laid out in the middle of the room, where two women stood crouching over maps. Tsarra reconized Hodoer, of course. The older woman had white hair that was braided down her back. She wore a plain woolen dress today, cut to a "decent" length. Though Hodoer was very old - even by elf standards - her face held no wrinkles. One of the advantages to working so close to the Source. She did not know the other woman, however. She had seen her around before, often lounging with the soldiers. Her brown hair was cut short, her dark eyes hard. Though she tried not to listen, Tsarra picked up pieces of the conversation. There seemed to be strange occurances happening all over the kingdom. Wolves attacking elves unprovoked, crops withering and dying even though the rain had been plentiful. Disturbing events. She kept her eyes straight ahead of her, the picture of a good apprentice. She still saw Hodoer's hand gesters though. She rushed over to her teacher's side, giving her company a small bow, which the other woman dismissed as she stalked out of the room. Hodoer sighed, and sank into a cusion on the floor. Tsarra went down to her knees, wondering what this could be about. Surely all these. . . problems. . . had nothing to do with them. "I need you to go now, Tsarra. We knew it would happen someday." The old woman touched Tsarra's cheek fondly. "I was hoping it wouldn't be for many years, though." A sad smile formed on her face. "Events are unfolding. Some would indicate that the Shadow is touching the world again. His prison is weakening." Tsarra didn't know if she should laugh or cry. "This can't be happening, Mother. The prison has held for hudreds of years. It should hold until the end of time!" "But it hasn't, Daughter. And you have been chosen to help fight for the Light. You must go. Your heart will lead you." Her voice started to quiver, though she quickly got it under control again. "Take care, my Daughter." Tsarra was ushered out. Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion. This couldn't be happening. It just couldn't! She went to her room as if in a trance, packing only a few clothes and some basic provisons. She was escorted to the edge of the City, where she was left. The prophocies told that a chosen elf - could it really be her? - would be cast out, probably never to return. Tears stung her eyes as she began walking. |

| Footsteps echo through his empty mind, the first sound to penetrate the cold hard stone which has surrounded him for so many Ages. His mind broken, his spirit no longer restrained by the poisen in his blood, Dre'noir awakens to a new dawn... The footsteps woke Dre'noir out of his slumber, his prison had been cracking, but his consciousness had refused to surface until the soft sound of the Elf's feet trodded over his dark, confined rock. Dre'noir was held upright in a jagged rock which stuck up like a splinter from the forest floor. He was contained in side the solid stone, but as the Elf approched, as she and others had before, the rock did not remain solid. First a loud cracking sound could be heard, then the gray stone splintered apart. Dre'noir collapsed forward into a world which had long forgotten him. The young man fell unconscious onto the soft forest floor. His armor fell about him in a state of wear and disrepair. His hair fell across his face and his sword fell out of his grasping hand. He now only wore simple breeches and a linan shirt but his figure showed him to be a warrior. Oddly enough, without his black armor he could easily be mistaken as a Forest Guardian woken from slumber to protect the Wold. Unfortunatly, it would remain to be seen what exactly he was. _________________ I like Chocolate Milk. Its like Hot Chocolate. Only cold.

| Rellik made his way silently through a thick forest, his twisted walking staff lightly bumping the ground, showing him the way. He sighed, just barely, and tasted the soft, moist air. He listened to the trees whisper, telling quiet tales of their lives... not that he cared. He walked on, slowly and apprehensively. SNAP.Rellik stopped there, still as a stone, listening: Light footsteps crushed the grass and leaves, and a small snarl hovered above the tree's whispers. Fear consumed Rellik; he could not fight. He knew this had to be one of the wolves that had been attacking their elven friends as of late. He stood still, heart racing. Then, pain twisted in his bones, forcing him to the ground; black fur grew from his skin, and his ears flattened, leaving two holes on either side of his head. His tailbone protruded, forming a long, hairless tail. Ebony claws shoved through his finger tips as his hands formed into paws of a wolf. His face elongated, and his eys were enveloped in white light. His blackened sight filled with color, and he could see the large grey wolf now. He braced himself for a fight, a purring snarl escaping his lips. |

| Tsarra walked, trying not to look back. If she returned now, she would be shunned by everyone. Her head hung down, but a loud noise brought it up in a hurry. She fell backwards as something fell out of a rock in front of her. She brought herself to her knees, looking through the dust. That couldn't possibly be. . . a man? She rushed foward, not sure what to do. He almost looked like one of the Guardians of ledgend. Hope treatened to overwhelm her. Maybe she wouldn't have to go alone after all! She was so absorbed in what - who - had fallen in front of her, that she didn't see the form moving in the woods just beside them. |

| Before the other wolf could attack, there was a thud close by. The wolf perked its ears, sniffed, and ran. Rellik looked around, and sniffed as well. There was a faint scent of... an elf... and something else... someone? He couldn't tell. He creeped closer, his glowing white eyes searching the trees. There, near the edge of the forest, a large rock sat, dust floating about it. A young elf sat on her knees, staring into the clearing cloud. Rellik walked closer... In this form, he could easily be mistaken for a creature of Shadow. He hoped his glowing eyes wouldn't give him away... And closer he crept. |

| A steady beat of life approaches, the spirits of the forest connect with a vibrate and glowing life; enter, The Elf...
Dre'noir could feel the life force approaching, his own steadied by her presence. His body would quickly recover from his long stasis, his mind however, was clean as a slate. The Elders who once sealed him in had the wisdom to clear his mind, in order to prevent the chaos caused by his people. Dre'noir was young, there was hope. His abilities would remain mostly undiminished but his spirit would be free of the Shadow's poisen.
The young man twitched as he regained control of his body. His mind swirled as it attempted to restore itself. Dre'noir turned and rolled on to his back with a groan. The moss was soft under his body giving him support, he dragged his hand across his face. His eyes fluttered open slowly and he stared up at the green fauna and canopy above him. A woodland realm...? He thought, he coulnt remember anything, only his name.
Suddenly movement came to his attention, reflex took over. The man lurched to his feet, he staggered forward slightly as his got used to walking upright. He eyed a young Elf and a wolf on the edge of the clearing. Dre'noir held out his arms to keep his balance and bent his knees in case of an attack. He spoke firmly and cautiously, "I am Dre'noir... son of... I..." Dre'noir was unsure how to proceed, he could not remember any more. He contented with giving a stern look and remaining vigilant.

| Tsarra took a step towards the man, hands out spread. "Please, calm down! Y-you should rest!" She wasn't sure what was going on exactly, but it was her duty to help anyone in need. She took another step, her eyes full of concern. His glare didn't worry her - he hardly seemed able to stand, much less anything else - but she was afraid he would hurt himself if he tried anything. "Please, sit down!" She was just a few steps away from him now, and she stretched out a hand. She sudenly saw the wolf staring from the brush, it's eyes glowing white. She gasped. All she could think of were the reports she had overheard. She couldn't think of what to do. Why hadn't it attacked yet? |

| As the cloud of dust disappeared, a man was revealed. Rellik paused midstep, as the man was looking directly at him. Then, his vision went to the girl... He crept just a bit closer, poking his nose out further. Then the girl saw him. He cursed. The girl looked frightened, and her skin paled. He crouched, wishing he could control this... "ability" of his... He took a few steps back. It would be unwise to try to confont the girl in this state. She most definitely thought he was one of the Shadow's beings. He receded into a bush, and waited, wishing she'd look away. |

| Tsarra did look away, but only by pure will. If it was going to attack, it would have already. Right? She forced a smile and looked over the man, who still seemed in a bit of a daze. If she concentrated hard enough on him, maybe she could forget about the wolf just feet away. [OOC: you still with us, Sciocco?] |

| ((What the heck? How come no one has posted? lol. watch out, this post is gonna be kinda long. haha)) A slim young woman was wandering on the edge of the Elves' forest. She was about 5'7" and her skin was a little dark. Her hair was up in a ribbon. Black bangs were sticking out, hanging down around her face. But the rest of her hair was dark brown. Her eyes were dark green. Her skin was smooth, there wasn't a flaw on it. On the middle of her forehead, there was a small blue jewel. Hoops hang from from ears. A necklace bounced on her chest as she walked. Her belly button was pierced, and she wasn't wearing much clothing. It was sort of like a two-piece swimsuit, really. She have a top and a bottom. The bottom also had a small skirt-like cloth that hung off her body. All of this was made of a dark blue, light cloth. Also, a long black cloak hung from her back and drug on the ground. The young woman had simple shoes. They are made from a very strong hide and hugged her feet like socks. However, they did not cover up her feet completely. Her toes still stuck out, along with her heels. Also, she had two katanas, one strapped to each hip. This young woman's name was Akira Matsuzawa. As she walked, she stumbled slightly. Apparently, she was tired. Akira had been on the edge of the Elves' forest, but that all seemed to fade away. Suddenly, she was back on the edge of the mountains, almost ten years previous. Akira and her family (her parents and her little brother, Yori) were wandering around on the edge of the mountains. It was getting late and they were looking for a place to camp at for the night. All of a sudden, a group of goblins jumped out from behind a couple trees and bushes. They ran after us with swords and axes. Her parents started running away and Akira ran after them. They ran until the goblins were out of sight. Then, Akira noticed that Yori was gone. She just knew that the goblins had gotten him, So she tried to stop her parents and make them go back for him. However, they refused.
"But he's your son! You're going to just run away to save your own skins? Are you really going to condemn him to death?"
They tried to justify what themselves. "Akira, it's not that we don't love Yori. We don't want him to die. But if we went back for him, we would have to fight those goblins. You should know by now that fighting is not our way!"
Akira ended up screaming at the top of her lungs at them. "I can't believe you! Yori's probably being tortured by those goblins by now! He's probably screaming and crying for you, wishing that you would come and help him! But instead of doing the right thing, you run away like fucking cowards! If it were you, I would try to help you. And I'm sure Yori would feel the same way! I can't believe you. You disgust me."
Then, Akira turned her back on them and started running back towards where the goblins were. Her parents called after her, begging her to come back, but she didn't listen. She just kept running.Suddenly, the mountains around she disappeared and were replaced with the trees. She was back on the edge of the forest. Tears flooding from her eyes, Akira fell on her knees. Her hands flung up to her face, covering it. Then, she started sobbing uncontrollably. _________________ |

| [I don't know where everyone went! We were waiting for Sciocco to post, but I don't know if he will.] Tsarra heard a faint sound comming from not too far away. She looked in the direction it was comming from, but she could see no one past the trees. She looked back to the man, who still seemed to be in shock. She took him by the hand, half dragging him towards the sound. She saw a young human sitting, crying softly into her hands. She left the man a little ways away, but in a place where she could still see him. She hesitated for a moment. This human was carrying weapons! That went against evreything she had read about them. She didn't let it stop her, though. She dropped to her knees, and laid a hand on the girls shoulder. She could feel a deep pain comming from her. "What's the matter, child?" She asked, her voice soft and soothing. |

| Akira jumped a little as she felt a hand fall onto her shoulder. She didn't think anyone was around, so she hadn't expected that. Quickly, she turned away and wiped her tears from her face. Then, Akira put her hands down and looked at the hand's owner. An elf? "Nothing, I'm fine." She said, a little sourly. Who was this elf? Obviously, she wasn't an enemy. If she was, she could have easily snuck up on Akira and attacked while she was crying. Then, Akira scowled herself in her head for letting her guard down. She had to be tough, or one day, she could get attacked if she wasn't careful. _________________ |

| Tsarra gave the girl a warm smile, chosing to ignore the bite that her comment had had. "Your soul's in chaos, lost one. Perhaps I could help you." She didn't know much of the humans, but she knew that no one liked to be alone. And she could use all the friend she could get, as well. |

| Akira simply looked into the Elf's eyes. "Why do you want to help me? I'm nothing more than a mere human, worth much less than your kind." Then, she looked down at the ground. "Anyway, I'm not sure if you can help me. I..." Akira's voice drifted off. She didn't know what to say. _________________ |
